Salderton and Bocos headline Harmoniz’s next generation of “solid genetics”
The seed company is entering the large Roma tomato segment with a high-resistance variety to ToBRFV, while strengthening its Bell pepper portfolio, led by Bernabel and Bonáyar.

The large Roma tomato Salderton and the late Bell pepper Bocos are the latest introductions with which Harmoniz reinforces its portfolio in both crops, aiming to maximize grower profitability.
Salderton marks Harmoniz’s entry into the Roma tomato segment with a variety offering high resistance (HR) to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV). Suited to mid–short cycles, Salderton has demonstrated excellent adaptability across different growing regions and transplanting dates, consistently maintaining its key attributes.
The plant features an open, compact structure with medium–short internodes and a strong fruit-setting capacity, “continuous throughout the entire cycle, even in winter,” explains Mauricio Fernández, General Manager of Harmoniz Ibérica.
Its trusses are uniform, bearing a high number of large-sized (G), consistent, thick-walled fruits, providing good specific weight (150–160 g) and firmness. With an elongated oval shape, the fruit maintains an attractive, intense, and glossy red color throughout the cycle.
Additionally, it shows no issues with blotching, cracking, microcracking, or blossom-end rot (BER).

The latest of the late segment
Bernabel (red), Bonáyar (yellow), and now Bocos—another red Bell type for mid-August and even early September transplanting—complete Harmoniz’s range for the late segment.
With Bocos, Harmoniz responds to a clear market trend: delaying crop cycles to avoid periods of high temperatures and consequently higher pest pressure. This variety aligns with Bernabel and Bonáyar, maintaining consistent fruit quality and size throughout the cycle.
Bernabel, Bonáyar, and Bocos deliver high final yields for growers thanks to their strong productivity and consistent fruit quality. Their open, well-ventilated plant architecture, with smaller leaves, facilitates the detection and control of Thrips parvispinus, while also reducing the incidence of diseases and pests associated with excess humidity.
Harmoniz Select
Built on solid genetics — the foundation of all its projects — Harmoniz has developed a distinctive working model based on active consumer listening, directly and strategically connected to production.
Through Harmoniz Select, the company promotes long-term collaborative projects that generate value across the entire supply chain, starting from high-value commercial proposals that enable growers to differentiate themselves in the market.
The Harmoniz Select range currently includes high-flavor tomatoes marketed under branded concepts with their own identity and positioning. However, the company aims to go further, continuing to expand this concept with new references designed to stand out in the marketplace.
