Innovaction
Innovating
Proactively
The dictionary shows a short and clear definition of innovation: a new idea or method. This description fits TomaTech like a sleeve. Developing innovations is the main task of our breeding team and our company. On daily basis, our breeders are looking for better hybrids and breeding lines. Considering traits like fruit quality, flavour, plant architecture, yield and resistances they try to improve the TomaTech portfolio. In the same breath TomaTech is discovering the consumer, trading and produce chain for new opportunities and concepts. Good examples are products like Pom Sweet Candy and Cosmopolitan. They represent a new way of looking at existing profiles.

Breeding locally
By breeding on location of the most important tomato area’s in the world, we are able to customize our varieties. For non-active greenhouses, facing alternate hot and cold circumstances. But also for active glasshouses, with proper light and adjusted climate to reach high yields. We have the knowledge and professional expertise to adapt many tomato varieties to these conditions and optimise results.
Diversity:
the engine
of evolution
Innovation is diversity
-
Shape
-
color
-
size
-
flavor
# 1 — performance
Diversity in terms of performance, which means: diversity in shape, in color, in size, in flavor, in growing conditions.
# 2 — Resistances
Diversity meant as a package of resistances which help growers to reduce chemicals usage and residues on crop, to preserve crop cycles, productivity granting top-quality fruit results.
-
Lycopene
-
Beta-carotene
-
Flavonoids
-
alpha-lipoic acid
# 3 — Nutritional Values
Diversity as a wide range of high nutritional values: beside looking for tasty and good looking tomatoes, consumers are more and more oriented toward products with high nutritional properties. This is why we put efforts in increasing elements like Licopen, vitamins, potassium, phosphorus, folates, among others, in all of our varieties.

What
people say
about us
-
Adam Hubbeard
Manager, Pinnacle Acres (Canada)“Working with TomaTech is an enjoyable experience. They’re very knowledgeable, and willing to provide clear guidance to help us all achieve the maximum potential out of their varieties. Their portfolio is full of interesting and delicious offerings. Pictures don’t do these tomatoes justice, you need to see them for yourself.”
-
Santo Zara
Founding Partner, Cooperativa Pacò (Italy)“The intense Lab research activity of Tomatech is in fact constantly flanked by the presence of geneticists on the territory. This helps us producers to identify possible criticities at an early stage. The possibility of making use of TomaTech’s breeding improvement program developed in our territory, in our farms, is an added value that we could not give up for any reason.”
-
Eviek van der Arend
Owner, WPK (Holland)“The TomaTech varieties are already well known for their taste and presentation, and the trade and retail are certainly satisfied with that, but in order to be of interest to growers, the cultivability and production must also be above average. That is the challenge of breeding: you have the trade side on the one hand and the growers on the other.”
